My friends are all going to this High
School party this weekend. I’m only in 7th grade, and I’m not
comfortable going. I only know a few of the people that’ll be there. I don’t
want to skip the party, because I don’t want my friends to think I’m scared.

Dear Arden,
If your not comfortable going, then don’t
go. You’re in 7th grade, you have plenty of time to go to parties,
but not now. You don’t know what the
kids are going to do there. You don’t know if there's going to be alcohol or
drugs at the party, so it would be best to just steer clear of the party. Think
of it this way, what if it was your daughter asking you this question. What
would you say to her, or what would you say to your best friend if she was
asking you the same question? It’s definitely up to you whether you go or not,
but just make sure it’s what you want to do, not what your friends want you to
do.
