Interview of Czar C.

Czar C.

Q: What band instrument do you play?

A: Baritone. It is a brass instrument that is about half the size of a sixth grader.  You put your mouth on the mouthpiece and make a buzz sound with your mouth. You have to take deep breathes every once in a while because whenever you buzz into the baritone, the air makes the noise.  I’ve been playing the baritone for two years now.  The previous band teacher Mr. Chapel suggested I learn it.

Q: Do you want to try something new or just stay with the same band instrument?

A: I want to stay with the one I already have because I’ve found that I’m very good at playing it.

Q: Do you have a favorite song to play?

A: No, I really don’t have a favorite song to play.  I like marching songs. The way the rhythm flows whenever we’re playing a marching song appeals to me.  But I like Mozart and Beethoven, too.

Q: Do you want to become a professional band player when you grow up?

A:  Possibly, but I find it more of a hobby.  I want to be a robotic engineer.

Q:  How do you feel about playing a band instrument?

A: I think its pretty fun but it takes a lot of hard work and stuff. It takes dedication.  You’ve got to focus on your instrument and you’ve got to practice. So sometimes I don’t get to hang out with my friends as much as I’d like to.
